Austria’s alpine terrain covers more than 62% of the country with over 300 peaks over 3000 metres! That means dramatic views everywhere you look.
The iconic Grossglockner mountain pass stands as the highest paved point in Austria at 2504 metres. Simply put, a cyclist’s paradise! As you weave through 36 hairpin bends over 48 kilometres, you’ll be treated to stunning views of blooming alpine meadows, fragrant mountain forests, imposing cliffs and majestic glaciers.
With the rise in altitude comes the adrenaline rush as well as the cool air. There’s no better time than to stop for a warm bowl of goulash with a fresh apple strudel and just take your time to take in all the beauty.
